A Prayer For Earth
On NYE of 2020, a group of us chanted these words together (below), and now seems like the right time to share. Speak aloud if it feels right for you :)
To the energies of nature surrounding this place, to all possessed of good intention we call to you
To the indigenous peoples who once hunted, farmed, tended children, and performed sacred rights on this ground...whose land we occupy, we honor you - and acknowledge that we have benefited from your genocide.
Please grant your blessings so that sacred inspiration can be found here and that inspiration can lead us to the end of all genocide.
We call to you, earth - the sustainer of all life. Please grant us your endless creative potency
We call to you, water - perhaps the most unstoppable force of all. Please grant us your cleansing powers.
We call to you, fire, who dances the greatest dance. Please grant us your transformative majesty.
We call to you, air, literally the breath we breathe. Please grant life to all our aspirations.
We call to you, space, in you all the elements and everything in manifestation dwells. Please open the gates and allow only auspicious forces
We call to you all beings seen and unseen living and departed who are dear to anyone in this gathering of seekers. Please bless us with your presence please come close with your radiant love and join us in this celebration
May our aspirations be fulfilled.
May our hearts be healed.
May our lives become circles of love and understanding.
May each of us continue to reach for the clear dawn.
May our world be freed from confusion without hesitation.
May the vicious cowards who call themselves leaders be vanquished at once.
May the oppressed become empowered.
May the hungry be nourished.
May all war cease.
May sanity and justice prevail in every regard.
May all beings benefit from what we cultivate here.
May all beings become joyful and free !
And so it is.
