A Grounding Practice
Greetings Loved Ones,
What makes you feel grounded? For me, it’s the smell of a campfire, bare feet in the grass, home cooking, long hugs, a dip in the ocean, snuggling a cute animal....it’s whatever brings me closer to nature. Human beings are made up of organic, light matter - we are not at all separate from Earth, so spending time with friends and family will ground us as well.
Communicating with the intelligence of the natural world helps us get closer to our most authentic selves. To do this, we’ve got to give ourselves time to just be...to set our intentions and practices on remembering who we really are.
Here is a practice that can help us do just that...
Find a seat with your feet planted firmly on the ground.
Take slow, deep breathes. Inhale for six counts and exhale for six.
While you do this, imagine a cord traveling from the top of your head, down through your feet, and all the way to the hot core of the earth. Feel the energy of Earth’s core travel through the cord…through your body….and continue to breathe.
Ask for clarity, ask for what you need...and listen. Then, write down what comes through and reflect on what you received.
With our constant use of technology, it’s easy to feel more like a computer than an organic being. But we have innate intelligence and innate knowing that is always available to us. All we need to do is ask for guidance and open up the space to receive it.
Love, Helen Denham
