The Capricorn New Moon: Navigating the Transition to a New Phase
THE LAST NEW MOON OF 2022 -
This symbolic new moon in the sign of Capricorn is the last of the year! It is transiting at the same phase as the sun (so it’s not visible in the night sky) and this lunation represents a time of new beginnings and fresh starts for us, as all new moons do. This one, in particular though, leads us to the finish line of 2022 and into the new paradigm of 2023. It’s a big one. The home stretch!
Capricorn is a sign associated with discipline, hard work, and ambition. It is associated with the planet Saturn, which is known for its structures and boundaries (the Father archetype). Therefore, this new moon in Capricorn is a time when we may be more focused on setting goals and working towards achieving them. It is also a time when we may feel more disciplined and motivated to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
The new moon in Capricorn also signals a time of reflection and introspection. We may feel more inclined to think about our long-term plans and how we can work towards achieving them. It is a good time to review our priorities and make any necessary adjustments in order to stay on track.
Overall, it’s a time to focus on our goals, work with passion and focus, and embrace our sense of responsibility and discipline. It is a time to take a step back and think clearly about what we want to achieve in the long term, and then take action to make those goals a reality.

NEW MOON RITUALS -
A new moon is the start of a new lunar cycle, and it is a time of new beginnings and setting intentions. Here are a few ideas for new moon rituals:
Set intentions: Take some time to think about what you want to manifest or bring into your life. Write down your intentions and place them somewhere visible as a reminder. I’ve got my six top intentions written on a white board in my work space.
Create a vision board: Cut out images and words from magazines or print out pictures that represent your intentions and goals. Arrange them on a board or in a journal as a visual representation of what you want to manifest. Or use Canva to create a digital once and set is as your background on your phone/laptop!
Clean and declutter: Take this opportunity to clean and declutter your physical space to make room for new energy and opportunities. Donate old clothes, deep clean your home, even rearrange your furniture! Make way for the new.
Reflect and journal: Take some time to reflect on your past lunar cycle and what you have learned. Write down your biggest takeaways.
Perform a meditation or visualization: Spend some time meditating or visualizing your intentions and goals. Focus on the feelings and emotions you want to manifest, and imagine them coming to fruition. See yourself going through the motions as if your vision is unfolding in present time.
Remember that new moon rituals are a personal practice, and there is no right or wrong way to do them! The most important thing is to find what works for you and what feels meaningful and authentic to you.
