The first question I always ask guests on the Lifted Podcast is, “What does your morning routine look like”? I believe that the way in which you start your morning determines the energy and the flow of the entire day. I’m a person that thrives off of organization - especially with my physical surroundings. A clear space is a clear mind! So, today I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite ways to start my day. Every morning is different, but on a good day, this is what I do:

  • Write down my to-do list the night before. That way, I’m not stressed about what needs to get done. My mind is already prepped and ready!

  • Wake up naturally if possible. If not, I make sure that my alarm is soothing - not shocking to the system.

  • My top three goals are written on my bedroom mirror, which I review first thing in the morning to set my intention for the day.

  • Quick stretch with my favorite music & a few jumping jacks to get the blood pumping.

  • Drink a big glass of water with lemon, THEN coffee. Drinking coffee first is too hard on the tummy.

    • For breakfast I usually have oatmeal with walnuts, berries, a little brown sugar and raisins.

  • Take my vitamins - a probiotic, vitamin C, iron, krill oil, vitamin D, biotin & vitamin B.

  • Dry brush my whole body. * brush toward your heart*

  • Take a quick freezing cold shower - It’s an at-home version of cryotherapy.

  • Moisturize & apply sunscreen!

  • Clean up my apartment a little bit to feel confident and organized. I never leave without making the bed and clearing off surfaces.

  • Five deep breaths followed by a minute of pranayama (fire breathing). Breath-work is a great way to get a natural, quick, burst of energy.

  • Review my to-do list, choose an outfit, choose a podcast, and off I go!
