Starting Over With Your Mental Health 101

If I had to start completelyyyy over again with my mental health, here's what I would do (as a Confidence Mentor who's overcome clinical depression, disordered eating, performance anxiety.. you name it!) ↓

1. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) every day. This is a transformational practice that marries somatic healing (the physical act of tapping on pressure points) with shadow work, and positive psychology. It's an amazing holistic approach to overcoming limiting beliefs. Click here for an example on my Instagram.

2. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This is different from talk therapy in that we actually take a look at the truth of our most common thoughts. It's essentially ‘thinking about thinking’ and this level of metacognition reinforces new, more positive, neural pathways. Byron Katie's, ‘The Work’, is essentially the same thing.  

3. Quantum Healing Hypnosis (QHHT) - to both heal from past trauma and instill a greater sense of faith in what happens when we pass. I offer this is the form of Past Life Regressions in which you gain a deeper understanding of the metaphysical world, and connect with your soul's dharma and unique blueprint from lifetime to lifetime.  

4. Return to nature. This plays a massive part in healing the nervous system. Hearing birdsong, being near water, putting our bare feet on the ground.. helps us get out of the fight or flight mode that we're so used to (especially living in cities around noise pollution and fast paced environments) and it balances the root chakra. Being in nature lets our system know that we are safe to decompress and relax. 

 5. Keep yourself busy - to release yourself from constant rumination or worry that can come up when we don't feel active enough, or like we're not contributing to our purpose and society. This can look like pouring into your hobbies, joining clubs or groups, upleveling at work, etc. Get out of the mind and into the body.

"Watch your thoughts, they become words; watch your words, they become actions; watch your actions, they become habits; watch your habits, they become character; watch your character, for it becomes your destiny."
