Are You Actually Afraid Of Success?
You’re not afraid of failure. You’re afraid of success. Let’s talk about it -
We’re always subconsciously attempting to keep ourselves safe. And safety, more or less, is simply familiarity. However, most of us in this human experience are familiar with shame, stagnancy, darkness, etc. And these feelings, ironically, feel safe and comfortable to us the more we experience them. So, we’re not exactly afraid of failure in those terms. What is scary is the unknown.. the unfamiliar.
What success does is blows the cap off of our upper limits. Success will shatter our glass ceilings.. it will take us beyond our comfort zones. Entering the unknown like this can elicit a flight/fight/freeze response (or at least we think it might).
Success also carries with it the expectation of:
Increased responsibility
Heightened visibility.. being seen and perceived on a bigger scale
Outgrowing certain people, places, and things.
You can start to remedy this fear of success by getting out of your comfort zone in much smaller ways on a daily basis to strengthen your foundation and ability to withstand change. That can look like:
Trying a new form of exercise that pushes you in a different way. Maybe you walk or run for 10 extra minutes. Maybe you try martial arts for the first time! Make it fun!
Socially extending yourself. Reaching out to one of you acquaintances to deepen your connection and grow your network.
Posting something on social media to allow yourself to be seen. Yes, on your personal page! So many of my clients tend to make second account to hide behind.. I want to encourage you to let yourself be seen in your full, whole, expression.
DM me on Instagram and let me know what you’re going to do today to move the needle for yourself. You deserve it. You deserve the life that you’ve been desiring and putting on your manifestation list for so long.
